At Church of the Incarnation, we believe that God made children for himself and gave them the ability to respond to him. Jesus calls little children to come to him! Each child has a deep need—and the capacity—to experience and enjoy the presence of God. We seek to nurture what God is already doing in their lives as we aide children in falling in love with the Lord. We also believe that Christian life is best lived in community, and so seek to support children in multiple ways:

Family

Formation in the faith starts at home, and so we strive to help families as they guide their children in the presence of God. Through classes on raising children in the faith and resources for spiritual practices and growth as families, we seek to enable parents to teach their children about the love of God.

Worship

We believe it is important for children to be a part of the larger body of the church from the very beginning. All of our children spend at least a portion of the service with their families, learning to worship with the entire body of Christ.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

CGS is a Montessori-style approach to faith formation. The children meet in the Atrium, which is a prepared environment where the Mystery of God meets the Mystery of the Child. The Atrium is a space created especially for the children where the catechist helps them engage in Scripture and Liturgy.

Fellowship

Part of being in Christian community is living life together. We encourage families to bring their children to small groups and we facilitate fellowship events for both children and families. These include playdates at the park, church-wide picnics, and activity nights for children in the summer.
