Charles Alex serves as a staff chaplain for VCU Health at Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and assisting priest at Incarnation. He is married to Dr. Yinghao Long Riffee who currently serves as a hospitalist at Johnston Willis Hospital. Their two children, Emma and Margaret, enjoy ballet, playing with their dogs, and eating copious amounts of popcorn.
Charles Alex graduated from his study of semitic languages and archaeology at Centre College in 2008. He received his M.Div. from Yale Divinity School & Berkeley Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut in 2011. He was received as a priest into the Anglican Church in North America in 2020 and recently completed a certificate program at Nashotah House Theological Seminary to further his study of Anglican History & Theology. He currently serves as Dean of Hospital, Hospice, and Prison Chaplains within the Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy and is a licensed priest in the Diocese of Christ our Hope.
